Figuring out their Cloud Strategy |
Most organizations are presently considering how Public Cloud might figure in their IT infrastructures.
To begin, we don’t take sides in this discussion. We believe that Public Cloud can intelligently be used for some of your workloads. We also believe that your own on-premises Private Cloud makes sense for the vast majority of your workloads.
Many of our Clients have already evaluated both options. In summary, Public Cloud has ALWAYS cost more money than on-premises. Cost isn’t the only factor to consider, however. For example, using Office365 might be more expensive, but it’s far simpler for your organization.
Public Cloud came into being because IT organizations were slow to provide users the ability to develop applications their users wanted, so the users did it themselves. Public Cloud was faster and could often be done “under the radar” by using a corporate credit card.
The end result is that a Hybrid Cloud environment makes the most sense for most organizations. Use the Public Cloud for workloads that are best suited for that environment, and use your on-premises Private Cloud for the rest.
Roundstone Solutions can help you make sense of all of this. |
Modernizing Infrastructure |
Thirteen years ago, Apple introduced the iPhone. At that time, you were using a flip phone or Blackberry, and it worked well for phone calls. Not as great for texting, or using the Web, but that wasn’t really a thing then.
Fast forward to today. You wouldn’t think of using a Flip Phone or Blackberry…those are so last century. They only do one or two things, while your iPhone or Android does a limitless number of things. You modernized your personal infrastructure; why would you ever go backwards? You wouldn’t.
Sadly, most IT organizations are still using infrastructure with its roots in the last century. Why would you want to do this?
Some examples:
Your server and storage infrastructure:If you’re still using discreet servers, storage, virtualization, and storage networking, understand that this was architected in the early 90’s; almost 30 years ago. There are better ways to do infrastructure, namely using Hyper-converged Infrastructure.
Roundstone can show you how much simpler, more high performing, and less costly it can be.
The way you do backup:You’re probably using older, storage array-based backup products, which are costly and don’t work that well with where you have corporate data (hint…it’s everywhere). There are newer backup platforms that allow you to easily backup your entire organization’s data using modern platforms.
And don’t forget, the reason you backup data is in the event you ever need to recover data. The newer platforms are so much simpler than the older approaches.
Roundstone can show you how easy backup and recovery can be these days.
You’re struggling with many different communications platforms that don’t play well together:On average, an organization deals with over 10 different communications programs, including voice, video, messaging, collaboration, contact center, and others. This is an enormous burden that doesn’t have to be this way.
Unified Communications as a Service allows you combine all of the communications programs you use into a single, Cloud based solution.

Doing more with Less |
Since March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed things significantly for IT organizations. IT budgets have had to be directed towards enabling workers to be able to work from home/anywhere, and other important projects stalled.
We’re now realizing business has been able to continue moving forward, and the projects that were planned in early 2020 still need to get done. Unfortunately, monies that were there before may not be there now. So how do you get the projects done?
Luckily, most organizations are presently paying far too much for their IT infrastructures, and we have a way for them to pay much less.
By deploying HCI, you can cut your current infrastructure cost by at least 40%, including what it might be to deploy in the Public Cloud.
By deploying modern backup approaches, you can cut your costs of backup significantly, while improving your backup approach.
With consolidation of your different communications platforms, you’ll cut costs and simplify things throughout the organization.
